Greetings all,
I hope that everyone enjoyed a fun and safe holiday break. We finished the first half of our Scouting year with lots to be proud of and lots of achievements for our Scouts. I think that the highlight was our pack earning the "Gold" level in the Journey to Excellence program. Our pack was recognized for being the best of the best. Congratulations go out to every scout, leader, and parent for making that happen. We have a lot to look forward to in the coming months. Our Webelo II scouts will be making visits to local Boy Scout troops to see where their Scouting adventure will continue after they complete their Arrow of Light. The rest of our Scouts will be putting the finishing touches on completing their current badge requirements. With so much to do, I wanted to update you on some key dates so you can put them on your calendars. Our regular den meetings will start this Tuesday (Webelo & Wolf dens) and Thursday (Bear den).
January:
Saturday, January 21st – Pinewood Derby Workshop
Bring your block of wood to cut out your car, sand it, and get great ideas for making your car faster. This event will be held at the home of our Pack Committee Chairman, Chris Bayer. His address and the time will be sent to you in another email.
Thursday, January 26th – January Pack Meeting
Saturday, January 28th – God & Family
This event is for our Webelos only. It will be held at TUMC and the cost is $20 per Scout. The cost will cover lunch, class materials, and awards. The awards for this will be presented to each Scout on Scout Sunday.
God & Me
This event is for all Tigers, Wolves, and Bears. We are still trying to find an leader for this class. We will contact you soon with details for this event.
February:
Saturday, February 11th – Scouting For Food
This is a District-wide event where we will collect can food to donate to local Food Banks. We have participated in this in the past and it is a great way for our Scouts to give back to our community.
Sunday, February 12th – Scout Sunday
While our religious beliefs may be diverse, on this one day we will come together to celebrate Scouting's anniversary and the common ground we share in doing our duty to God and being reverent. We will attend the 11:00 am service at TUMC as a pack. All Scout Sunday awards will be presented to our Scouts on this day.
Thursday, February 23rd – Pinewood Derby
Come show off your hard work and have fun racing your Pinewood Derby Car. This event will start at 6:00 pm and it will take the place of our regular Pack meeting. It will be held at TUMC in our regular place.
Sunday, February 26th – Dallas Stars Scout Day
The cost of this event is $17 per person and it includes your game ticket and a cool patch. Our Scouts will also be able to arrive early and take part in a special event.
March:
Saturday, March 3rd – Webelo Woods
This is a Webelo only event. The cost is $20 per person and will be held a Sid Richardson Scout Camp in Bridgeport. It is an over night camping trip.
Saturday, March 17th – Rocket Academy
This event is open to all Scouts and the cost is $27 per person. This includes meal, shirt, patch, and rocket kit. It will be help at Sid Richardson Scout Camp in Bridgeport.
Thursday, March 29th – Blue & Gold Banquet
This is a celebration of all the years accomplishments. There will be a slide show, catered meal, and awards for all Scouts.

June:
Day Camp June 4-7. This will be held at Hills and Hollows and the theme this year is dinosaurs.
